Water Supply & Drainage

Water supply pipelines, storage, pumping, irrigation and storm-water drainage networks — the civil packages that bring clean water in and take storm water away.

Overview

What this service covers.

Safe water and effective drainage protect public health and the infrastructure around them. MITA builds the pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs and drainage networks that municipalities, utilities and developers depend on.

Our crews handle trenching, pipe laying, jointing, thrust blocks, valve chambers and house connections, followed by pressure testing and disinfection so systems are commissioned ready for service.

On drainage packages we construct storm-water channels, culverts, manholes and outfalls sized to cope with heavy rainfall, reducing flooding and erosion in urban and rural areas.

Route survey, levels and hydraulic review of the issued design.

  2. Trenching & civils

Excavation, bedding, chambers and structural civil works.

  3. Installation

Pipe laying, jointing, pumps, valves and fittings.

  4. Testing

Pressure testing, flushing and disinfection of the system.

  5. Reinstatement & handover

Backfill, surface reinstatement and as-built records.

Quality & safety

Standards we hold on site.

  • Hydrostatic pressure testing of every pipeline section
  • Flushing and disinfection before potable systems go live
  • Trench support and shoring for safe deep excavation
  • Surface reinstatement to the condition we found it in
  • As-built drawings recording pipe routes, depths and valves

FAQ

Common questions.

Which pipe materials do you install?

We install HDPE, uPVC, ductile iron and steel pipelines, following the client's specification and the ground conditions.

How do you make sure a pipeline doesn't leak?

Every section is pressure tested before backfilling is completed, and potable systems are flushed and disinfected before handover.

Do you work on live networks?

Yes. We plan connections and shut-downs with the utility to keep interruptions to customers as short as possible.
